Our Home Inspector will review the detailed report with you to make sure you understand everything and answer any remaining questions.
Wood Destroying Organisms
Wood destroying insects and other organisms can cause serious problems in the wood structural components of a house and may go undetected for a long period of time. A termite inspection is included in all our home inspection packages, saving you money and time in one appointment.
Dutchess Home Inspection starts with a full termite inspection which includes visual and probing methods. We will look for termite mud tubes, tunnels, and wings on window ledges, door frames, and in boiler rooms. Termite damaged wood beams, joists, and wood support columns in your basement and garage are also inspected.
Septic Dye Testing
Septic dye testing and well flow testing are often
performed as part of residential real estate
transactions.
The septic dye test consists of introducing an
environmentally harmless fluorescent dye into the
waste water system of a home, subjecting the waste
system to a given amount of water flow, and
inspecting specific parts of the septic system for dye
emergence. Visible dye on the soil surface usually
indicates poor soil infiltration, blocked pipes, or other
problems.
Pre-Purchase Inspection
A home inspection is a visual process where all of the items typically used within a home are tested and/or operated to verify proper operation or installation. Doors and windows are opened and closed, roofing materials inspected, air-conditioning and heating systems operated. The Inspector will fill the sinks and tub(s), run the shower(s), and flush the toilets. All the while making notes on the condition and operation of the components tested. Upon completion a report will be distributed to you.
